New Images and Details Released for The Lion King Ride at Disneyland Paris, Construction Begins Soon

Jul 09,2025 Author: Logan

Exciting developments are emerging for the upcoming *Lion King*-themed ride at Disneyland Paris, now confirmed to break ground in Fall 2025. This groundbreaking attraction will be a centerpiece of the park’s transformation into Disney Adventure World, marking the very first land and ride ever dedicated to *The Lion King*. As revealed by the official Disney Parks Blog, this immersive expansion promises to deliver unforgettable experiences through storytelling, themed environments, dining, shopping, character encounters, and high-energy attractions.

At the heart of the new land is an innovative water ride that transports guests through key moments from the beloved 1994 animated film. The journey will feature lifelike Audio-Animatronics of iconic characters like young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying their carefree jungle life—just one of many memorable scenes along the route. Adding to the excitement, riders can expect a thrilling 52-foot drop, making it just slightly taller than the upcoming Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.

This ambitious project is part of a larger transformation that will double the size of the current Walt Disney Studios Park. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, the ride will debut after the grand opening of *World of Frozen* in 2026, which itself is set to be a major highlight of the reimagined park.

In addition to *The Lion King*, the new Disney Adventure World will also introduce several other groundbreaking attractions. These include a brand-new *Tangled*-inspired ride featuring Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel, and the first-ever theme park attraction based on *Up*, described as a "spinning carousel" offering guests a "bird's eye view" of the park’s breathtaking scenery.

One of the earliest additions to the evolving park experience will be *World Premiere*, set to open on May 15, 2025. This dazzling entrance will evoke the glamour of a Hollywood premiere and will include the *World Premiere Plaza*, inspired by Broadway and London’s West End. Guests can enjoy theatrical performances such as *TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure*, *Mickey and the Magician*, and *Frozen: A Musical Invitation*.

Stay tuned for more updates on this monumental transformation and explore our retrospective on the 30th anniversary of *The Lion King*, details on Destination D23: A Journey Around the World of Disney, and our updated ranking of the top 25 Disney animated films.
