Master the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle! This guide unravels the Vatican's giant mystery, providing a step-by-step walkthrough to conquer this cinematic challenge.

Solving the Fountain of Confession Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Following the Sacred Wounds puzzle and escape from the Vatican's underground, Indy uses his scroll to locate the Fountain of Confession. Remember to photograph everything for Adventure Points!

Exit Antonio's office (like at the start of the Sacred Wounds mission) and use your journal's map to find the courtyard stairs leading to the puzzle's starting point.

The entrance to the Fountain of Confession Puzzle

First, locate the chest near the fountain's construction area. Inside is the fountain key, granting access to the adjacent storage room.

The fountain key

Inside, use Indy's whip to rappel to the roof, then swing to the window overlooking the fountain. You'll see two dragon statues. Ignore the first; swing to the second, grab its claw (a lever), and adjust its direction using the left stick to face the opposite dragon. Repeat for the first statue, noting its missing claw.

A Dragon Statue

The missing claw is on the scaffolding below. Rappelling down triggers a cutscene with Gina Lombardi, who then assists. Retrieve the claw.

The missing Dragon Claw

Return to the statues, attach the claw, and position both dragons face-to-face. The fountain statue will rotate, revealing the next phase. Rappel down.

Inserting the Dragon Claw Rotating the Dragon Statue

Use Indy's whip to pull the fountain statue, revealing a gate blocked by three statues and a lever. Indy and Gina activate the lever, revealing the first wall puzzle (a baptism scene). (Note: pillar inscriptions offer hints and Adventure Points.)

Indy and Gina pulling the lever

Move the larger male statue under the water bucket, activate the water mechanism with your whip, then push the wet statue towards the smaller statue, completing the "baptism." The left gate statue moves.

Reactivate the lever for the second puzzle: guiding an angel across stone layers using the left and right handles. Move the angel to the right to complete this section. The remaining gate statue moves.

Second Puzzle Solution

Finally, push the central statue through the gate. A spiral stairway appears, leading to the next part of the game.

Final Step Puzzle Completion

Congratulations! You've solved the Fountain of Confession puzzle!

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is available now on PC and Xbox.
