The PlayStation State of Play June 2025 presentation will stream live on June 4 at 2:00 PM PT/5:00 PM ET through PlayStation's official YouTube and Twitch channels. This 40-minute English-language showcase will feature numerous game reveals and updates.
The gaming community abounds with rumors about Capcom potentially revealing a new Resident Evil title during PlayStation's upcoming State of Play. Industry insider Dusk Golem recently suggested there's a high likelihood of an announcement, fueling speculation about possible remakes or new entries in the survival horror series.
This wouldn't be unprecedented - Capcom previously unveiled the Resident Evil 4 remake during Sony's 2022 showcase. With Summer Game Fest approaching, PlayStation may strategically position this announcement to maintain visibility during the crowded season.
Exciting hints suggest Square Enix might announce a Final Fantasy Tactics remake at the showcase. This speculation intensified after Yasumi Matsuno, the original game's director, engaged with PlayStation's announcement before deleting his activity. Numerous Square Enix representatives have since fueled the speculation through social media interactions.
Respected industry journalist Jason Schreier added credibility to these rumors with cryptic tweets praising the original Tactics and hinting at potential remaster news. While unconfirmed, the growing evidence suggests PlayStation fans might finally get their long-awaited Tactics revival.
The showcase will likely feature significant updates for several high-profile PlayStation exclusives currently in development. Highlights may include:
PlayStation State of Play serves as Sony's official platform for announcing game updates, hardware news, and PlayStation-related content. These pre-recorded digital events function similarly to Nintendo Direct and Xbox Developer Direct presentations.
Sony doesn't follow a strict schedule for State of Play broadcasts, instead hosting them whenever they have substantial announcements ready. Showcases typically feature gameplay reveals, developer interviews, and occasionally unexpected game announcements.
