NBC Universal has unveiled the climactic trailer for Jurassic World Rebirth, showcasing pivotal moments from the film alongside fresh glimpses of both classic and newly designed dinosaurs.

Starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali, Jurassic World Rebirth follows an elite extraction team venturing to Earth's most perilous location - a long-abandoned Jurassic Park research facility now inhabited by history's most dangerous leftover specimens. Directed by Gareth Edwards (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) with a screenplay by original Jurassic Park writer David Koepp.

Here's the official synopsis:

Five years after Jurassic World Dominion, Earth's ecosystems have largely rejected dinosaurs. Survivors cluster in equatorial zones mirroring their prehistoric habitats. Three apex predators - terrestrial, aquatic and aerial - harbor crucial DNA that could yield revolutionary medical breakthroughs.

Johansson portrays covert ops specialist Zora Bennett, leading a black-ops mission to secure this genetic goldmine. When her team encounters civilians marooned by aquatic predators, all find themselves trapped on a restricted island housing Jurassic Park's classified research facility. There, among diverse dinosaur species, they uncover a terrifying secret buried for decades.

Key Trailer Highlights

The trailer resurrects a never-filmed river sequence from Michael Crichton's original Jurassic Park novel. Screenwriter Koepp recently revealed revisiting Crichton's work for inspiration, stating: "There was a sequence we'd always wanted in the original movie but couldn't accommodate. Now we finally get to use it."

Viewers get their first proper look at the genetically modified 'D-Rex' (officially named Distortus Rex). Edwards describes this terrifying hybrid as "what if Giger redesigned a T-Rex that bred with a Star Wars Rancor."

New aerial threats emerge with the winged Mutadons, which Koepp characterizes as "pterosaur-Raptor hybrids."
