The spotlight was initially on stars Scarlett Johansson and Mahershala Ali, but the real show-stealers were the pack of prehistoric beasts that stormed in, giving audiences a tantalizing preview of what's to come. Although the video shares similarities with the trailer Universal premiered last week, it still provides a solid glimpse into the next installment of the Jurassic Park saga, set to hit theaters this summer.
Jurassic World Rebirth is set to take the franchise in a new direction, diverging from the storyline of the most recent trilogy, which concluded with Jurassic World Dominion in 2022. The directorial reins have been handed over to sci-fi and monster movie veteran Gareth Edwards, who is steering the latest film in the long-standing series towards uncharted territory with fresh faces and an innovative narrative. While it remains unclear how closely Jurassic World Rebirth will be connected to its predecessors, we know it is set in the near future."Five years after the events of Jurassic World Dominion, the planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs," a synopsis for Jurassic World Rebirth reveals. "Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures across land, sea, and air within that tropical biosphere hold, in their DNA, the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind."
