Kirby Air Riders will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2 on November 20. Helmed by Super Smash Bros. director Masahiro Sakurai, this racing title features beloved characters from Kirby's universe. Players can engage in vehicular combat across battle arenas or race on traditional tracks. Preorders are now available (check Best Buy listings).
Kirby Air Riders offers only a standard edition, with no special or collector's versions available. In an era where many games charge premium prices for early access, this straightforward approach feels refreshing.
We'll update with more retailer options as they become available. For immediate updates, follow IGN Deals on Twitter/X and Bluesky.
Physical copies of Kirby Air Riders contain the entire game on the cartridge - no downloads required.
This contrasts with some Switch 2 releases that either provide download codes or require inserted license cards. Like all first-party Nintendo titles, Kirby Air Riders delivers a complete physical experience.
This sequel expands upon 2003's GameCube title Kirby Air Ride (note the name difference). While the original focused on Kirby variants, this installment introduces playable characters including King Dedede, Meta Knight, Chef Kawasaki, and Bandana Waddle Dee - all retaining Kirby's signature copy ability.
The gameplay evolves beyond the original's single-button controls, adding boost (B button) and special ability (Y button) functions. For comprehensive details, see our Nintendo Direct coverage.
