Krysten Ritter is set to reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. The exciting news was officially announced during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, as reported by Variety. This announcement comes after months of speculation and rumors that the Disney+ series might bring back several characters from the Netflix Defenders, fueling fans' hopes for their integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).
Ritter shared the stage with Daredevil and The Defenders co-star Charlie Cox, expressing her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

Ritter first brought the New York-based Marvel hero to life with the premiere of Jessica Jones Season 1 on Netflix in 2015. The series enjoyed two additional seasons and was followed by the team-up series The Defenders. However, as Netflix's era with original Marvel programming drew to a close, so did the prospects of seeing Ritter in the role again.
The landscape changed in 2021 when Disney regained the rights to certain characters, including Jessica Jones. Following Cox's cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home and his starring role in Daredevil: Born Again, fans began to hope for the return of other Netflix heroes. With the Punisher playing a significant role in Season 1, Ritter's return in Season 2 feels like a natural progression.
Ritter's last appearance as Jessica Jones was in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at a bright future for the character within the MCU, although for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. While Disney has not yet announced a release date, showrunner Dario Scardapane has indicated that new episodes are expected in March 2026.
