Liam Hemsworth Debuts as Geralt in Season 5 of The Witcher: First Look Revealed

May 06,2025 Author: Charlotte

The White Wolf is making his final appearance as production for the much-anticipated Season 5 of *The Witcher* is now in full swing. Fans have been treated to new set photos, including a glimpse of Liam Hemsworth stepping into the iconic role of Geralt of Rivia. These seemingly leaked images, shared by the dedicated fan site Redanian Intelligence, showcase Hemsworth in full Geralt regalia, complete with the character's signature long blonde hair. Alongside Hemsworth, familiar faces such as Meng'er Zhang as Milva and Joey Batey as Jaskier, who have been part of the series since Henry Cavill's tenure, are also spotted on set. Hemsworth's casting as Geralt was announced back in October 2022, marking a significant transition for the show as he takes over from Cavill starting in Season 4 and through to the final Season 5.

In addition to the returning cast, set photos reveal new characters set to debut in Season 4 and continue into the final season. Among them is the legendary actor Laurence Fishburne, known for his role in *Morbius*, who will portray Emiel Reigs. These images hint at potential plot developments, possibly drawing inspiration from Andrzej Sapkowski’s *Tower of the Swallow*, where Geralt encounters beekeepers who guide him to druids. However, with Season 4 still awaiting release, the storyline could take any number of turns, leaving plenty of room for speculation and excitement among fans.

It's worth noting that Henry Cavill isn't the only cast member who has departed from *The Witcher*. Kim Bodnia, who played Geralt's mentor and father figure Vesemir, will not be returning for Season 4 due to scheduling conflicts. As of now, Netflix has yet to announce who will step into Bodnia's shoes, and there is no official release date for Season 4 either. The anticipation continues to build as fans eagerly await more details on these casting changes and the upcoming seasons.
