Developed originally by Grasshopper Manufacture (known for the No More Heroes series), Lollipop Chainsaw is a vibrant action hack-and-slash title. Players control Juliet Starling, a chainsaw-wielding cheerleader battling hordes of zombies. While Grasshopper Manufacture didn't handle the remaster, Dragami Games delivered a visually enhanced experience with quality-of-life improvements.

This sales milestone, achieved across current and last-gen consoles, and PC, was announced by Dragami Games several months after the September 2024 remaster launch.

Players engage in exhilarating hack-and-slash combat, reminiscent of Bayonetta, using Juliet's trusty chainsaw against waves of zombies and formidable bosses.

The original 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 achieved even greater success, selling over one million copies. This initial success was likely fueled by the unique collaboration between Goichi Suda and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy), whose contributions shaped the game's narrative and writing.

While future DLC or a sequel remains unconfirmed, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's sales success bodes well for remasters of other cult classic games.
