Remember the thrill of arcade battles and frantic button-mashing? That nostalgic excitement is making a grand comeback with the upcoming title by HaoPlay Limited. Mark your calendars because Metal Slug: Awakening is set to launch globally on July 18th, 2024, and pre-registration is now open.
Here's the scoop on this exciting release! Metal Slug: Awakening reimagines the iconic series that captured hearts in the '90s. Originally teased in 2020 by TiMi Studios as Metal Slug Code: J, the game underwent several delays and name changes before its debut in Southeast Asia in late 2023. Now, it's ready for pre-registration and promises to be a modern take on the beloved franchise.
For those unfamiliar (though I doubt that's many of you), let me give you a quick intro to the series. Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun video game series that first hit the scene in 1996. Created by Nazca Corporation, it has since expanded into a multimedia franchise.
Metal Slug: Awakening isn't the series' first venture into mobile gaming. We've seen Metal Slug Defense in 2014, Metal Slug Attack in 2016, and Metal Slug Commander in 2020. However, Awakening aims to raise the bar with enhanced features and gameplay.
The game stays true to its roots with classic shooter mechanics but introduces updated graphics and innovative gameplay mechanics. Players can look forward to reuniting with their favorite Metal Slug characters on new missions. The game includes a World Adventure mode, a 3-player Team-up for cooperative action, and Roguelike challenges to keep you on your toes.

Will you pre-register? Metal Slug: Awakening features 3-player PvE gameplay and an Ultimate Arena for real-time battles. Pre-registration is currently live on the Google Play Store, so don't miss out on the chance to secure your spot.
