Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced their return for the 2025 edition. Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) is the latest to confirm its participation.
The 2024 tournament featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. These events brought together teams from around the globe to compete in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants claimed victory in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress defeated Team Vitality (holders of a 25-game win streak since 2021) to win the Women's Invitational.
A Significant, Yet Secondary, Event?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, it's notable that few are showcasing their premier championships. The inclusion of the MLBB Mid-Season Cup, rather than the main MLBB championship, suggests the Esports World Cup might be viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary focus. This is a double-edged sword; it avoids overshadowing existing leagues but could also be perceived as less prestigious.
Regardless, fans of MLBB and the Esports World Cup will be delighted by its return. For those interested in trying MLBB, we recommend checking out our tier list of top-tier characters!
