Monopoly GO Adds Star Wars Podracing, Lightsabers

Monopoly GO! is blasting off into hyperspace with its latest in-game event. Following last year's Marvel collaboration, Monopoly GO is teaming up with Star Wars in its next major crossover. This partnership stands as one of the largest Scopely has orchestrated to date.

When Is the Monopoly GO x Star Wars Collab?

The event launches on May 1st and continues through July 2nd. The narrative begins in an amusing way, with PEG-E, the Monopoly GO robot, watching Star Wars in Mr. M's private theater.

Completely captivated, she dreams herself and her friends into the Star Wars galaxy. From that point forward, the focus shifts from properties and hotels to the struggle between Jedi and Sith, the light side and the dark.

Here's what players can expect during the Monopoly GO x Star Wars collaboration. A new Star Wars-themed GO! sticker album will be available to collect. This album unfolds like a comic book, reimagining elements of the Star Wars universe through PEG-E's creative lens.

The stickers feature a host of iconic characters, including R2-D2, C-3PO, BB-8, Yoda, Mace Windu, Luke, Rey Skywalker, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Han Solo, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, Grogu, Qui-Gon Jinn, and the Mandalorian.

Even the standard Monopoly GO events are getting a Star Wars makeover. Mini-games will take place on planets like Tatooine and venues such as the Mos Espa Grand Arena. Players might even spot Qui-Gon and Mr. M engaging in some podracing.

There’s More!

The event's trailer premiered during Star Wars Celebration Japan. Beyond the characters and stickers, the gameplay itself will be infused with Star Wars references.

The experience is layered with lightsabers, space travel, and galactic aesthetics. Watch the Monopoly GO x Star Wars collaboration trailer below to get a firsthand look.

As with previous events, players can acquire other Star Wars-themed cosmetics. These will include tokens, shields, and emojis. It's also wise to follow the game's social media channels for news and additional updates throughout the event duration.

Download the game from the Google Play Store and jump into the crossover when it goes live.
