Capcom's highly anticipated Monster Hunter Wilds, set to revolutionize the franchise, unveils a post-launch content roadmap. Here's a breakdown of the first major update.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1: Mizutsune and More
The launch trailer, showcased during PlayStation's 2025 State of Play, revealed a surprise: a detailed post-launch plan. Title Update 1, a significant addition, introduces the fan-favorite Mizutsune, a dragon-type monster known for its aquatic habitat and bubble-based attacks. Images from the trailer show Mizutsune's signature pink scales and purple fur, hinting at the return of its popular gear. While its location within the game remains undisclosed, the trailer depicts a confrontation with the newcomer, Doshaguma, suggesting a familiar skillset.
Alongside Mizutsune, expect a fresh batch of Event Quests accessible via the in-game Mission Board. These quests, offering valuable rewards for defeating monsters, will add further replayability. The exact number of quests remains unannounced. Finally, the update promises "additional updates," potentially including optimizations and bug fixes, crucial for a smooth gaming experience. The recent beta suggests a promising launch.
Summer 2025 Title Update 2 and Beyond
The roadmap extends beyond Title Update 1, promising a second update in Summer 2025. This update will feature another new monster (identity currently unknown), adding to the game's already impressive roster, along with additional Event Quests.
While future content beyond these two updates remains unconfirmed, Capcom's commitment to a successful launch suggests further surprises are likely. For more Monster Hunter Wilds news, including pre-order bonuses, visit The Escapist.
