Capcom's Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase today provided an exciting glimpse into what's next for the latest entry in their renowned Monster Hunter series. The event highlighted Title Update 1, set to launch on April 4, 2025, as a free update for all Monster Hunter Wilds players. Alongside this, fans can look forward to an array of new content, including free and paid DLC, a new hub for socializing, fresh armor and cosmetics, and the introduction of formidable new monsters.
Which aspect of Title Update 1 are you most eager to explore? Share your thoughts below!
A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with a tour of the new endgame hub, the Grand Hub, designed to enhance the social experience for hunting parties. Players can enjoy a variety of activities here, from feasting together to engaging in arm wrestling, or even listening to the Diva's enchanting night-time performances. A fun Barrel Bowling mini-game is also available, where participants can earn vouchers and other rewards. To unlock the Grand Hub, players need to reach Hunter Rank 16 and speak with Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord.
Mizutsune Arrives
Title Update 1 brings the graceful yet deadly Mizutsune to Monster Hunter Wilds. With its swift tail strikes and powerful water jets, Mizutsune promises challenging battles. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or above can embark on this quest by heading to the Scarlet Forest and speaking with Kanya. Successful hunts will reward you with materials to craft new gear.
Additional Hunts on the Way
A new Event Quest introduces the formidable Arch-tempered Rey Dau, a step above the standard Tempered fights, requiring players to be at least Hunter Rank 50. Overcoming this challenge grants access to new armor. Additionally, Zoh Shia, previously a one-time encounter, will be available for repeated battles through new quests, also accessible at Hunter Rank 50, with new armor sets to craft.
Arena Quests
Speedrunners have a new challenge in Arena Quests, designed to test their skills and speed. Both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests will be available, with participants receiving pendants for their efforts. These quests can be accessed via the counter in the Grand Hub.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, the dedicated handler, is getting a fashionable update. Players can now customize her appearance through an in-camp menu, with one new outfit available for free. Completing a specific side mission allows you to switch Alma's glasses, adding a personal touch to her look.
More DLC is on the way
Alongside Title Update 1, a mix of free and paid DLC will be available. Free additions include classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 offers new looks for Alma and other cosmetics, available through the store or for those with the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition. More stickers and additional content are also on the horizon.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
The update brings more Event Quests and introduces Seasonal Events, which will alter the appearance of the Grand Hub and offer special meals. During these events, players can acquire limited equipment, gestures, decorations, and more. The first Seasonal Event, the Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, starts on April 23, featuring pink cherry blossoms and new decor. Capcom also confirmed the return of most previous events and Event Quests.
The Roadmap Ahead
Here’s a glimpse of what to expect in the coming months: Title Update 1 launches on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives on April 29, and by the end of May, new features and a Capcom collaboration will debut.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a sneak peek at Title Update 2, slated for a summer release. While no exact date was given, a teaser image suggested the return of the beloved underwater leviathan, Lagiacrus, promising thrilling new encounters.
