MH Wilds Adds Lagiacrus Monster

Sep 07,2025 Author: Alexis

The second free title update for Monster Hunter: Wilds arrives soon, as confirmed during today's Capcom Spotlight broadcast. Scheduled for June 30, this release was somewhat expected following earlier leaks this week.

The update introduces two exciting new hunts: fan-favorite Seregios from Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate and the highly-anticipated return of Lagiacrus from Monster Hunter Tri. Known for its aquatic prowess and rivalry with Rathalos, Lagiacrus brings unique combat elements despite limited underwater battles (due to swimming combat restrictions). Expect special aquatic interactions during these engagements.

Beyond the new creatures, players can look forward to numerous additions launching with the June 30 update: long-awaited layered weapon customization, enhanced photo mode options, handler swapping functionality, a collaborative Fender guitar gesture, free gesture sets, premium cosmetic items, plus various equipment additions and rewards.

Mark your calendars for July 23 when the limited-time Festival of Accord: Flamefete seasonal event begins, running through August 6 with exclusive equipment and bonuses. Then on July 30, prepare for Arch-tempered Uth Duna - a formidable new variant arriving with its own challenging questline and stunning equipment rewards.

In our launch review scoring Monster Hunter Wilds an 8, we noted: "Monster Hunter Wilds continues refining the series' formula through smart quality-of-life improvements, delivering thrilling battles while maintaining more accessible difficulty."

This second free title update requires no additional purchase for existing owners. Prepare for its arrival in just four days on June 30. Catch up on all Capcom Spotlight announcements today.
