First Mortal Kombat 1 T-1000 Gameplay Looks Straight Out of Terminator 2, and There's a Surprise Kameo DLC Character Coming Too

Get ready for some liquid metal mayhem! NetherRealm Studios has unleashed the first gameplay footage of the T-1000, the latest DLC guest character for Mortal Kombat 1. This Terminator 2 icon brings his signature blend of brutal combat and shape-shifting abilities to the game. Witness his blade and hook arms in action, attacks reminiscent of Baraka and Kabal, and a truly terrifying liquid metal uppercut. Robert Patrick, the original T-1000 actor, lends his voice and likeness to the character, making this a truly authentic experience. The gameplay trailer culminates in a spectacular Fatality that reimagines the iconic Terminator 2 chase scene, with Johnny Cage as the unfortunate victim.

PlayBut that's not all! NetherRealm surprised fans with the announcement of Madam Bo as a new DLC Kameo fighter, launching alongside the T-1000. This fan-favorite character from the *Mortal Kombat 1* story mode is a welcome addition, offering unique support capabilities. Catch a quick glimpse of her in action during the trailer.

The T-1000 will be available as early access for Khaos Reigns owners on March 18th, with general release on March 25th. Madam Bo arrives on March 18th as a free update for Khaos Reigns owners or a standalone purchase.

The T-1000 marks the final DLC character for the Khaos Reigns expansion, following the additions of Cyrax, Sektor, Noob Saibot, Ghostface, and Conan the Barbarian. While fan speculation about a potential Kombat Pack 3 continues, Warner Bros. Discovery’s commitment to the Mortal Kombat franchise remains strong, as evidenced by CEO David Zaslav's statement about doubling down on only four key titles, including Mortal Kombat.

Madam Bo is coming to Mortal Kombat 1 as a Kameo fighter.
Ed Boon, Mortal Kombat's creative director, previously confirmed NetherRealm's next project was decided three years ago, promising continued support for Mortal Kombat 1. While many anticipate a third installment in the Injustice series, no official announcement has been made. The development timeline, impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to Unreal Engine 4, contributed to the decision to release another Mortal Kombat title before returning to Injustice. However, Boon has explicitly stated that the Injustice franchise is not closed off.
