Netflix and Supercell are teaming up to adapt the Clash video game universe into an animated series, drawing from the worlds of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale.
The series is currently in pre-production and will “expand on the delightful chaos of the games,” as described in a Netflix press release. The streaming platform also shared the show's premise, which centers on “an earnest but out-of-his-depth Barbarian who must unite a quirky crew to protect their village while navigating the hilariously twisted politics of war.”
Clash of Clans' official social media channels celebrated the announcement enthusiastically. “Sound the horns, raise the banners, and reinforce your village walls — Clash is coming to @Netflix!” they declared, alongside a playful teaser video showing developers sharing the news during a group FaceTime call. “We’re creating a new animated series featuring your favorite mustachioed Barbarian and his high-voiced, Hog Rider companions. Let’s charge!”
The team at Netflix is clearly thrilled to reimagine the popular game in animated form. “For more than ten years, Clash has captivated gamers worldwide with its blend of humor, thrilling action, and memorable characters—making it an ideal fit for an animated series,” said John Derderian, Vice President of Animation.
“In collaboration with the amazing team at Supercell, along with Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, we're capturing the fun, energy, and distinctive spirit of the Clash universe like never before. We're excited for both longtime fans and newcomers to dive into the adventure.”
