The new Deep Depths event in *Pokemon GO* introduces exciting additions to your Pokedex with Nickit and Thievul. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you catch these elusive Pokémon during the event.
To snag Nickit in *Pokemon GO*, your best bet is to catch it in the wild. During the Deep Depths event, this Dark-type Pokémon will appear as an uncommon encounter. Keep your eyes peeled and regularly check the radar in the bottom right corner of the screen to ensure you don't miss a Nickit roaming nearby.
Another way to obtain Nickit during the Deep Depths event is by hatching it from 7 km eggs. The event makes this even more appealing by halving the hatch distance for eggs placed in an Incubator, making it easier for those who can't spend all day walking.
Field Research during the Deep Depths event offers a chance to encounter Nickit by completing the task of defeating two Team Go Rocket Grunts. If you're looking to bypass the challenge, you can purchase the Deep Depths Premium Timed Research Ticket for $1.99, which guarantees two opportunities to catch Nickit. The first chance comes after defeating a Team Go Rocket Grunt, and the second after completing all missions.
Evolving Nickit into Thievul is the only way to obtain this Pokémon in *Pokemon GO*. You'll need to collect 50 Nickit Candy to evolve one of your caught Nickit. Using Pinap Berries can double the Candy you receive from each catch, helping you reach the required amount before the event concludes. Setting alerts in your Pokedex can also notify you when a Nickit is nearby, making your hunt more efficient.
The Deep Depths event begins on March 19 and runs until March 24, 2025, at 8:00 PM local time. With a full weekend to explore, it's the perfect opportunity to use Incense at local hotspots to increase your chances of encountering Nickit. By the end of the event, you'll be well on your way to adding both Nickit and Thievul to your Pokedex.
That's your guide to catching Nickit and evolving it into Thievul during the Deep Depths event in *Pokemon GO*. For more tips, check out the full Ditto disguise list for March 2025.
