Five Nights at Freddy's 2 Poster Reveals Fazbear's Return

Get ready for more scares! The highly anticipated sequel to the Five Nights at Freddy's movie, officially named Five Nights at Freddy's 2, has just unveiled its official poster, and we can't wait to return to Freddy Fazbear's Pizza for another terrifying slice of the action.
The poster showcases a children's toy known as the FazTalker, which brings to mind classic two-way radios and old-school Fisher Price microphone boom boxes. The toy is modeled after the restaurant's main mascot, Freddy Fazbear, complete with speakers or microphones in the ears and an open mouth. Instead of a traditional bowtie, the space is taken up by a communication screen, which in the poster displays the haunting question: "You there?"
Clearly, someone is attempting to make contact, most likely with Mike, the protagonist from the first film, once again portrayed by Josh Hutcherson of The Hunger Games fame. Given the events of the movie's finale, it's entirely possible this communication is linked to William Afton, the original owner of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and main antagonist played by Matthew Lillard.

Although Afton, who is presumably deceased, did not appear as Freddy Fazbear in the initial film (spoiler alert: he ultimately became the notorious Springtrap, a twisted version of the yellow Bonnie rabbit suit well-known to FNAF enthusiasts), that doesn't rule out the possibility of his spirit attempting to reach out from the other side.
That said, there are numerous potential explanations for this new toy, as it doesn't originate from the original FNAF lore and appears to have been created specifically for the film. It's conceivable that Abby, Mike's younger sister, owns the FazTalker, which could then be used to communicate with her—or even torment her. This theory gains traction when remembering that the first film established how the spirits of Afton's victims could communicate through both Mike and Abby's dreams and drawings. It seems entirely plausible that this device could be repurposed to operate within those same paranormal parameters, potentially being used to lure our heroes back to the haunted pizzeria.
According to an official press release from Universal, the film's tagline has also been confirmed: "Anyone can survive five nights. This time, there will be no second chances." Honestly, we're terrified. Surviving the initial five nights was challenging enough!
The original FNAF movie, released in October 2023, "shattered box office records with an $80 million opening weekend and went on to earn nearly $300 million worldwide," according to the studio. The next installment—written by the game's creator Scott Cawthon and directed by Emma Tammi, who also directed the 2023 blockbuster—is scheduled to hit theaters on December 5, 2025.
