Preorders through the official Nintendo Store come with a few more steps. First, visit the dedicated page, log into your Nintendo account, and register your interest in either the console alone or bundled with Mario Kart World. Once registered, you'll receive an email invitation when it's your turn to complete the purchase, starting with the first batch on May 8. You'll have 72 hours to finalize your order upon receiving the invitation.
However, there are specific eligibility requirements: this option is only available to customers who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with at least 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours as of April 2, 2025. If you don't meet these criteria, you'll need to look elsewhere to secure your Switch 2.
