Palworld Dating Sim: Not an April Fools' Joke, Dev Confirms

May 02,2025 Author: Max

Developer Pocketpair has exciting news for fans of their massively popular monster-catching game, Palworld. They've announced a new addition to their universe titled Palworld! More Than Just Pals, a dating sim that promises to blend romance with the familiar Palworld setting. Announced on March 31, this isn't an April Fools' Day prank, despite the timing raising some eyebrows among the gaming community.

Pocketpair is keen to dispel any skepticism, affirming that Palworld! More Than Just Pals is a legitimate project. Interestingly, the concept originated from an April Fools' Day stunt in 2024, which initially presented the game as a humorous fake. Now, it's set to become a reality, slated for release on PC via Steam at a yet-to-be-announced date.

The dating sim introduces players to the world of Palagos Private Academy, where they enroll as a transfer student. Here, they can befriend and potentially fall in love with a diverse cast of student Pals, including characters like the "cute" and "mysterious" Katress and the "timid" Chillet, all drawn from the existing Palworld roster. The game offers players the freedom to choose their paths—whether to maintain friendships, pursue romance, or take a more bizarre turn with the Pals.

Bucky, associated with Palworld, confirmed the announcement's legitimacy on social media, stating, "This doesn't concern April Fools :)."

As Palworld celebrates its one-year anniversary and continues to roll out updates, including crossplay support, Blueprint upgrades, and a photo mode, fans have plenty to look forward to. While there's hope for a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Palworld, there's also anticipation that Palworld! More Than Just Pals might find its way to the console in the future.

This unique blend of romance and monster-catching is set to offer a fresh and intriguing experience within the Palworld universe.
