Pikmin Bloom is set to celebrate its 3.5th anniversary next month, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops with a nostalgic nod to the golden days of Nintendo. The festivities are set to begin with a special event starting on May 1st, 2025.
The Update Is a Cool Throwback to the Good Old Nintendo Days!
Over the years, Pikmin Bloom has delighted players with various fun decor options, including Pikmin adorned with Mahjong Tiles and Playing Cards. For its 3.5th anniversary, the game is introducing classic Nintendo game consoles from the 80s and 90s, offering a delightful trip down memory lane.
Adding to the nostalgia, a new Playing Card (Clubs Suit) Decor Pikmin will be available, paying homage to Nintendo's origins in the playing card industry before they ventured into video games. The designs of these cards are inspired by Nintendo's vintage playing card decks.
The event will run from May 1st to May 31st, 2025, giving players a full month to engage in event missions and collect unique new Pikmin. Completing Event Challenge missions will reward players with random items such as Game Button Cells, seedlings that can grow into Nintendo Consoles '80-'95 Decor Pikmin, and flower petals.
During the event, Brilliant Mushrooms will also appear, and smashing them will yield Mystery Boxes containing Game Button Cells, flower petals, and other goodies. The Nintendo Consoles '80-'95 or Playing Card Decor Pikmin are especially effective at taking down these mushrooms.
Pikmin Bloom 3.5th Anniversary Also Brings Big Flowers in May
In May, the flowers in Pikmin Bloom can bloom into a variety of beautiful options such as carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, or anniversary roses, depending on whether you plant red, yellow, white, or blue petals around them.
Additionally, there's a nectar update coming. Fruits obtained from mushrooms during May will provide nectar not only for regular flowers but also for special ones like carnations, sweet peas, lilies of the valley, freesias, canola flowers, and anniversary roses.
Beyond these exciting updates, Pikmin Bloom will also host a Community Day. Don't miss out on the fun—download Pikmin Bloom from the Google Play Store and prepare to celebrate the 3.5th anniversary in style.
