Plants vs. Zombies has reached its 16th anniversary, and the team behind the game is celebrating in true Neighborville style. It all began sixteen years ago when the first peashooter launched its projectile, marking the start of the iconic backyard battle.
To commemorate this milestone, EA is rolling out enticing discounts. In the PvZ shop, Dave’s Secret Stash is slashing prices by up to 33% on various packs. Additionally, Mini Games are now available at up to 20% off, providing a fantastic opportunity for both seasoned players and newcomers to enjoy the fun of planting peas or chomping on brains.
The developers are also sharing heartfelt behind-the-scenes stories from the creators and dedicated fans who have been defending their lawns since the game's early days. These anecdotes highlight the quirky characters and the endless stream of plant puns that have become a hallmark of the series.
Perhaps the highlight of the Plants vs. Zombies Sweet 16 celebration is the official celebration video. This tribute to the community showcases zombies disco-dancing and teleporting, capturing the fun and creativity that has kept players engaged for over a decade. Why not take a moment to enjoy the Plants vs. Zombies Sweet 16 video right here?
In 2009, Plants vs. Zombies made its debut on desktop platforms, courtesy of PopCap Games. With its quirky humor and addictive gameplay, featuring sunflowers beaming and zombies donning traffic cones, it quickly captured the hearts of gamers worldwide.
The game then transitioned to mobile devices in 2010. By 2012, EA had acquired PopCap, and in 2013, they released Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time, introducing new worlds and zany mechanics that kept the series fresh and exciting.
Currently, Plants vs. Zombies 3: Welcome to Zomburbia has been in development since 2020. After a soft launch and subsequent rework, the team is refining its new art style and aiming to recapture the classic tower defense feel that fans love.
If you haven't played in a while, why not jump back into the action? You can find Plants vs. Zombies on the Google Play Store. And while you're at it, don't miss our coverage on Honkai's upcoming game, Honkai: Nexus Anima.
