The Pokemon Company has officially confirmed that Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses will be utilized in future expansions, dispelling recent rumors that suggested otherwise. Launched in October 2024, Pokemon TCG Pocket has become a popular replacement for the Pokemon TCG Live mobile game among fans. The game introduced the Mythical Island booster pack, which added 68 new cards to the collection. Initially, the Genetic Apex packs included 226 cards across three packs, and some players had already unlocked all available cards by the time Mythical Island was added. Speculation arose that Pack Hourglasses might become obsolete with the rumored January expansion, but The Pokemon Company has clarified this is not the case.
Screen Rant highlighted a statement from The Pokemon Company that assures players that Pack Hourglasses will continue to reduce the delay between booster pack openings by one hour, "regardless of the expansion." This clarification came in response to rumors about a new currency replacing Pack Hourglasses, which The Pokemon Company denied for the upcoming 2025 expansion. As a result, players are encouraged to keep collecting these hourglasses for use on future packs.
Pokemon TCG Pocket Pack Hourglasses Are Here to Stay
Without Pack Hourglasses, players can earn Pack Stamina by waiting 12 hours, allowing them to open two booster packs daily. Pack Hourglasses, which can be obtained by completing daily challenges and opening the daily Complimentary Item Set in the shop, accelerate the Pack Stamina process by one hour each. A total of 12 hourglasses are needed to bypass a full 12-hour interval, rounded up to the nearest hour. Besides Pack Hourglasses, Pokemon TCG Pocket offers various other currencies such as Wonder Hourglasses, Special, Event, and standard Shop Tickets, Poke Gold, Pack Points, and more.
The confirmation from The Pokemon Company alleviates concerns about the utility of Pack Hourglasses in future expansions. As long as Pokemon TCG Pocket remains successful, fans can expect ongoing updates and new expansions.
