A recent leak suggests a Pokemon Presents event is scheduled for February 27, 2025, coinciding with Pokemon Day. This revelation, uncovered by a Pokemon GO dataminer, has ignited excitement among fans anticipating updates on highly anticipated titles.
The leak originates from files discovered within the Pokemon GO server after a recent update. These files explicitly reference a Pokemon Presents event on February 27th. This date holds significance as the original release date of the first Pokemon games, making Pokemon Day a traditional launchpad for major franchise announcements.
With Pokemon Legends: Z-A slated for release this year and the next mainline title on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be a pivotal year for the Pokemon franchise. Speculation is rife that these upcoming games will be showcased on the Nintendo Switch 2, potentially boosting the console's launch appeal. Many are hoping for pre-Pokemon Day news about the new Switch console itself.
Dataminer mattyoukhana, via Twitter, confirmed the discovery of these files within the updated Pokemon GO server. While Pokemon Presents on Pokemon Day are expected, this leak provides the first concrete confirmation, particularly welcome given the recent silence from The Pokemon Company and Nintendo regarding gaming announcements.
Beyond general excitement, fans eagerly await updates on Pokemon Legends: Z-A and its 2025 release. Details remain scarce, but the game is anticipated to build upon Legends: Arceus, reintroducing Mega Evolution and setting the stage in Lumiose City. Given the series' recent hiatus from mainline console releases, significant information is expected this year.
This leak isn't isolated. Riddler Khu, another prominent leaker, has added fuel to the fire, cryptically sharing images of 30 Pokemon (including Reshiram, Tinkaton, and Sylveon) with the single word, "choose." While not necessarily hinting at starter Pokemon selection (given the power level of some included Pokemon), this could highlight key characters in the upcoming game.
The future of the Pokemon franchise remains shrouded in mystery, but with active dataminers and leakers, further revelations are likely imminent.
