The Pokémon Company addresses ongoing shortages of its highly anticipated Scarlet and Violet — Prismatic Evolutions expansion, offering reassurance to fans. The company acknowledges the widespread product scarcity impacting global distribution, including the US, and expresses gratitude for fans' patience.
This statement marks the first official recognition of the supply issues surrounding the expansion, initially announced in November 2024 and slated for release on January 17, 2025. The significant demand has led to difficulties in securing pre-orders and obtaining the product.
Reprint Efforts Underway:
The Pokémon Company confirms that reprints of Prismatic Evolutions products are currently in production and will soon be distributed to licensed vendors. While a specific release date for these reprints wasn't provided, the company assures fans that they are working at maximum capacity to address the shortages. Although online speculation points to scalping as a contributing factor, the company attributes the issue to "high demand."
Future Product Releases:
Beyond the reprints, additional Prismatic Evolutions products are planned for release in the coming months, as previously announced. This includes:
Players can also obtain Prismatic Evolutions cards in the Pokémon TCG Live mobile game starting January 16, 2025, via the Battle Pass.
The Pokémon Company's proactive response and commitment to increasing production offer hope to collectors and players eager to experience the Prismatic Evolutions expansion.
