The new MacBook Air continues its dual-size offering with both 13-inch and 15-inch options, catering to different mobility needs and screen size preferences. The 13-inch model starts at an attractive $999 price point - $100 less than its predecessor - while the 15-inch version begins at $1,199. Powered by the M4 chip, these laptops deliver enhanced performance and extended longevity, featuring a baseline configuration of a 10-core CPU, 8-core GPU, 16GB RAM, and 256GB storage. For power users, customization options include upgrading to a 10-core GPU, expanding to 32GB RAM, and increasing storage up to 2TB.
Among the notable updates is the introduction of a fresh color option: Sky Blue - an elegant silvery-blue hue. Other available finishes include Midnight (black), Starlight (gold), and Silver, though Space Gray has been discontinued. Each model ships with a MagSafe charging cable color-matched to your chosen finish.
The upgraded 12-megapixel Center Stage camera promises sharper video quality for your FaceTime calls and virtual meetings.
While not essential for owners of last year's model, Apple claims the M4-equipped MacBook Air delivers double the performance of M1-based models. The performance leap is even more dramatic compared to Intel-powered predecessors, with Apple touting up to 23x faster speeds.
New MacBook releases often bring discounts on older models. If you don't require the latest specifications, consider these cost-effective alternatives featuring previous-generation technology.
