A former employee of Respawn Entertainment recently shared on LinkedIn that the studio has halted the development of a new game this week. The project, which had been in the works for several years, was abruptly stopped without any public explanation regarding the reasons behind the decision.
Last year, gaming journalist Jeff Grubb revealed that this project was not a mainline entry in the Titanfall series, specifically clarifying that it was not Titanfall 3. To bring this vision to life, Respawn assembled an "experimental team" dedicated to the project, handpicking experts renowned for their skills in developing multiplayer shooters.
This isn't the first time Respawn has had to pull the plug on a promising project. Last year, they also canceled an arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends, further stirring the community's anticipation and speculation about the future of the franchise.
The Titanfall series has captivated gamers since its debut in 2014 with its exhilarating mix of action and mech piloting. Players can engage in combat either as agile pilots or as formidable Titans, offering a unique blend of parkour and intense team battles that has won the hearts of many fans.
Currently, Respawn Entertainment is channeling its efforts into other exciting ventures. They are diligently working on the third installment of the Star Wars Jedi series, promising more adventures in the beloved galaxy far, far away. Additionally, in collaboration with Bit Reactor, they are developing a new strategy game set within the Star Wars universe, expanding their portfolio and keeping fans eagerly awaiting what's next.
