As beloved as LEGO is, with its countless building possibilities, no set stays on shelves forever. Most LEGO sets eventually retire, becoming unavailable through standard retailers. Fortunately, Amazon often has limited stock of these retired kits, making it an ideal time to secure those you might have missed. Many are even offered at a discount, presenting a smart opportunity to buy now before prices rise on the secondary market.
While buying LEGO in 2025 is easy, finding retired sets at major stores can be a challenge. Here are some recently retired sets you can still purchase on Amazon before they vanish for good.

Retired in December 2024LEGO offers something for everyone, and the retired sets on Amazon reflect this diverse appeal with a range from child-friendly playsets to detailed display models. As a huge fan of both Star Wars and LEGO, I'm particularly drawn to the R2-D2 set (75308); its intricate design makes it a perfect display piece for a game room or bookshelf. The Technic Porsche 911 RSR (42096) is another excellent choice for adult builders, boasting an authentic, near one-to-one scale model. The BrickHeadz line remains a popular favorite, and retired Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings figures are still available for purchase on Amazon.
For tracking retired sets and upcoming retirements, the Brick Economy website is an excellent resource. This third-party site monitors all current sets, providing a complete list of what's next to retire.
Staying informed about retiring LEGO sets can be confusing without the right resources. LEGO's official website features a regularly updated "Last Chance to Buy" page, which is the best place to find this information. While they don't list exact retirement dates, checking at the start of each month is a good strategy if you're eyeing a specific set that's about to disappear from stores.
Here’s a selection of standout sets scheduled to retire soon, including Marvel and Super Mario kits, as well as a detailed McLaren F1 race car.
