Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced Now the Worst User-Reviewed GTA on Steam

Rockstar's enhanced version of Grand Theft Auto 5, launched in March, hasn't received the warm welcome expected on Steam. Currently boasting a "mixed" user review rating (54% positive out of 19,772 reviews), it significantly underperforms the original GTA 5, now unlisted on Steam. In fact, GTA 5 Enhanced holds the unfortunate title of the worst-reviewed GTA game on the platform, trailing even Grand Theft Auto III – The Definitive Edition (66% positive).
This free upgrade for PC players includes features previously exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of GTA Online: Hao's Special Works upgrades, new vehicles, animal encounters, and GTA+ Membership access. However, account migration issues are causing significant frustration. Many negative reviews highlight the error message: “The GTA Online profile associated with this Rockstar Games account is not eligible for migration at this time.” Players are expressing anger over the loss of hundreds of hours of gameplay and the perceived inadequacy of Rockstar support.
One review states: “This is an objective downgrade from the ‘old’ version. Gonna pretend this was never released and continue to enjoy Legacy version until the new game comes out when I'm 60.” Another criticizes Rockstar's lack of support for affected accounts. Despite these problems, GTA 5 Enhanced remains a popular title on Steam, peaking at 187,059 concurrent players since its release.
The negative reception raises concerns about the upcoming PC release of Grand Theft Auto 6, fueling anxieties among PC gamers.
