Sega Delays Sonic Rumble for New Update

May 13,2025 Author: Lily

Despite the excitement around the pre-launch crossover event that showcased beloved Sega classics like Super Monkey Ball and Altered Beast, fans of Sonic Rumble will have to wait a bit longer for its global debut. The multiplayer battle royale game, which had amassed over 1.4 million pre-registrations, has been delayed by Sega.

The reason for the delay is the preparation of the version 1.2 update, which is set to introduce a plethora of new content to the toybox world created by Dr. Eggman. This update will include exciting additions such as Rumble Rankings, Crews, and character Skills, all designed to enhance the core gameplay and offer players more than just a chaotic victory.

Rumble Rankings will allow players to ascend seasonal leaderboards and earn rewards, while Crews will enable you and your friends to tackle score missions collaboratively. The introduction of the Skills system will equip characters with unique abilities, adding a layer of strategic depth to the game.

Sonic Rumble Gameplay

Rather than hastily rolling out these features during the initial launch, Sega has chosen to delay the release to ensure everything is polished and ready. In the meantime, a Q&A session is scheduled for May 2nd on Discord, giving fans an opportunity to learn about future plans and ask their burning questions.

While waiting for Sonic Rumble, you might want to explore other top battle royale games available on iOS to keep the adrenaline pumping!

The delay does not dampen the enthusiasm built around the game. All pre-registration rewards, including 5,000 Rings, a Crystal Chao Buddy, the Happy Sticker, the Garnet Knuckles skin, and the exclusive Movie Sonic skin for reaching 1.4 million pre-registrations, are still secured. When the game finally launches, players will start with a generous collection of bonuses.

With the release date now postponed, you can continue to pre-register for Sonic Rumble by clicking on your preferred link below. The game will be free-to-play with in-app purchases. For more information, be sure to visit the official website.
