Silksong Developer Reaffirms Release For Switch 1
Following Silksong’s quick appearance at the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2 on April 2, fans speculated that the game might bypass the current generation and launch directly on the next. Silksong was initially announced in 2019 for PC and Switch 1, with subsequent confirmations for PlayStation and Xbox console releases by developer Team Cherry.
To address fans' concerns, Matthew Griffin, Team Cherry's Marketing and PR Handler, took to Twitter (X) on April 8. Griffin confirmed that Silksong will indeed be released for both the original Switch and the upcoming Switch 2. While specifics on the differences between these versions remain undisclosed, it's anticipated that the Switch 2 edition will benefit from enhanced resolution and other improved features.
New Silksong Images Revealed

Following the Nintendo Direct for Switch 2, fresh images of Silksong appeared on Nintendo Japan’s official website. Though the depicted locations are familiar, fans have noted subtle graphical enhancements since the initial 2019 showcase.
Despite the developers' reticence about the game's details, Silksong’s brief feature in the Switch 2 Direct and the unveiling of new images hint at an imminent release date announcement. Moreover, recent updates to Silksong’s Steam metadata have further fueled fans' anticipation for a launch sometime this year.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is slated for release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
