A new Sims game is in the works, and it's available now in Australia! While not the highly anticipated Sims 5, The Sims Labs: Town Stories offers a taste of what's to come. Currently in its playtest phase, this mobile simulation game is part of EA's broader Sims Labs initiative, a testing ground for future franchise features.
This latest addition to the Sims family isn't quite what long-time fans might expect. A Google Play listing exists, though downloads aren't yet available globally. Australian players can join the fun by registering through EA's website.
Initial Reactions to The Sims Labs: Town Stories
The game's announcement has sparked mixed reactions. Reddit users, for instance, have voiced concerns about the graphics and speculated about potential microtransactions.
Gameplay blends classic Sims building with character-driven narratives. Players design neighborhoods, guide residents through their lives, manage careers, and uncover Plumbrook's secrets.
Early footage and screenshots suggest a familiar feel to previous Sims titles, reflecting its experimental nature. EA is likely using this platform to refine concepts for future iterations.
Intrigued? Check the Google Play Store for the game and give it a try if you're in Australia! Stay tuned for our upcoming coverage of Shop Titans' Halloween event.
