According to Variety, the project is being spearheaded by Story Kitchen, the creative minds behind recent hits like the Sonic the Hedgehog movies. Their goal? To encapsulate the essence of childhood wonder in a modern, high-energy adventure that pays homage to the iconic toy retailer's 70-year legacy.

Drawing inspiration from beloved films such as Night at the Museum, Back to the Future, and Big, as well as successful toy-to-movie franchises like Barbie, this upcoming film promises to be a unique blend of fantasy and fun. While details about the cast remain under wraps, the production team is robust, featuring Johnson, Goldberg, Timothy I. Stevenson, and Elena Sandoval from Story Kitchen, alongside Kim Miller Olko of Toys "R" Us Studios.

Story Kitchen's track record includes the announcement of a film adaptation of Square Enix's Just Cause, directed by Ángel Manuel Soto of Blue Beetle fame.
