Sega has officially announced the global release date for *Sonic Rumble*, the much-anticipated multiplayer party game in the Sonic series. Mark your calendars for May 8, 2025, as this is when you'll be able to dive into the action. Alongside the release date announcement, Sega unveiled an exciting trailer showcasing gameplay footage. You can catch the trailer right here:
In *Sonic Rumble*, up to 32 players will compete in a toy world crafted by the nefarious Dr. Eggman. This free-to-play game promises a thrilling experience with various levels and gameplay types. However, concerns about potential pay-to-win elements have been addressed by Sonic Rumble Director Makoto Tase during the Tokyo Game Show 2024. Tase clarified that the game will feature a straightforward, casual purchase system, allowing players to buy what they want quickly for a small, fixed amount, steering clear of the gacha mechanics.
Following the announcement of the release date, Sega revealed that *Sonic Rumble* has surpassed 900,000 pre-registrations. This milestone achievement unlocks various in-game rewards for players, helping them get a head start in the game. Here's what you can look forward to:
Although the final milestone for the pre-registration campaign remains undisclosed, speculation points toward a target of 1 million or more, a common goal seen in similar campaigns. With several weeks left until the launch, there's plenty of time to reach this goal. *Sonic Rumble* will be available on iOS, Android, and PC platforms.
