Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has appointed Hideaki Nishino as its sole CEO, effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a broader leadership reshuffle at Sony Corporation, also names Hiroki Totoki as the new president and CEO of Sony, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida. Lin Tao ascends to the position of CFO.
The press release clarifies that this follows last year's announcement of a shared leadership structure between Nishino and Hermen Hulst after Jim Ryan's departure. Hulst retains his position as head of PlayStation Studios, while Nishino now assumes full responsibility for SIE's operations and the platform business group.
Nishino, a Sony veteran since 2000, previously held the role of SVP, Platform Experience Group. In his statement, he expressed his honor at leading SIE, emphasizing the company's commitment to technological innovation and creative experiences, promising continued growth of the PlayStation community through IP expansion and technological advancements. He also thanked Hermen Hulst for his contributions.
