Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Star Wars: Outlaws will be making its way to the Nintendo Switch 2. However, fans eager to dive into this space adventure will need to wait a bit longer, as it won't be available at the launch of the new Nintendo handheld on June 5. Instead, Star Wars: Outlaws is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on September 4.
For those who might have missed it on PS5, Xbox, and PC, Star Wars: Outlaws is positioned between the iconic events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The game follows the journey of Kay Vess, a small-time criminal who finds herself targeted by a cartel. Our review awarded it a 7, praising it as "a fun intergalactic heist adventure with great exploration," but noted that it was "hindered by simple stealth, repetitive combat, and a few too many bugs at launch."
While Ubisoft didn't provide extensive details today, they did reaffirm the game's arrival on the Nintendo Switch 2 and specified the release date. This update is a significant addition to the Switch 2 Games List. As American and Canadian gamers remain in pre-order limbo due to Nintendo's ongoing assessment of the new tariffs introduced by the Republican administration, any news on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 games is a welcome distraction.
The announcement was made during a panel at Star Wars Celebration in Japan, where Ubisoft also unveiled details about the second story pack for Star Wars: Outlaws, titled A Pirate’s Fortune. In this add-on, players will see Kay Vess allying with Hondo Ohnaka to confront Stinger Tash, the leader of the Rokana Raiders. Star Wars: Outlaws: A Pirate’s Fortune is slated for release on May 15.
