Preserves Jars transform various items into artisan goods:
Jelly: Made from fruits. The selling price is double the base fruit value plus 50g. Health and energy values are doubled for edible fruits; halved for inedible ones. Processing time: 2-3 days.
Pickles: Made from vegetables, mushrooms, and foraged items (only those with positive energy when eaten). The selling price is double the base item value plus 50g. Health and energy values are 1.75x for edible items; adjusted for inedible ones. Processing time: 2-3 days.
Caviar: Made from Sturgeon Roe. Sells for 500g. Processing time: 4 days.
Aged Roe: Made from other fish roe. Sells for 60g plus the base fish price. Processing time: 2-3 days.
Item quality doesn't affect the selling price; use your lowest-quality produce for maximum profit. The Artisan profession (Farming Level 10) increases all Preserves Jar product prices by 40%.
Preserves Jars vs. Kegs:
Both create artisan goods, but Preserves Jars are more profitable for low-value fruits (<50g) and vegetables/forage (<160g) and process faster. They're essential for Fish Roe and are the only way to increase the value of many mushrooms.
