A stronghold is a vast, subterranean labyrinth, a relic of a bygone era. Beyond the valuable loot scattered throughout its twisting passages, prison cells, libraries, and other intriguing areas, lies the portal to The End – the game's final boss encounter.

The portal is activated using Eyes of Ender (detailed below). Finding a stronghold organically is impossible; the game provides a specific search mechanic, though less legitimate methods exist.
Finding a Stronghold
The Eye of Ender Method

This is the intended and only guaranteed way to locate a stronghold. Crafting requires:
- Blaze Powder (from Blaze rods dropped by Blazes)
- Ender Pearls (obtained by killing Endermen, purchased from villager priests, or found in stronghold chests)

Throw an Eye of Ender; it will briefly fly towards the nearest stronghold. Remember, Eyes of Ender are consumable. For survival mode, aim to gather around 30.

These are essential for activating the End portal; don't run out before reaching the stronghold.
The Locate Command Method
A less conventional (and arguably unfair) method involves enabling cheats and using the command:
/locate structure stronghold (for versions 1.20 and above)

Use /tp to teleport to the approximate coordinates provided. Note that the location is not precise; further searching may be necessary.
