Subnautica Launches Its Open-World Survival Adventure

Subnautica is now available on Android, allowing you to dive into the enigmatic ocean world of planet 4546B. Originally launched on PC in 2018 by Unknown Worlds, this acclaimed survival adventure game is renowned for its stunning underwater environments and engaging survival gameplay.

Subnautica is a survival open-world undersea

You assume the role of Ryley Robinson, the sole survivor of the starship Aurora, which crashes on a vast ocean planet. Forget lush forests or arid deserts; here, you are surrounded by an endless, life-filled aquatic expanse.

Your core challenge is managing oxygen, hunger, and thirst as you gather essential resources. These materials are dispersed across diverse biomes, from vibrant coral reefs and fiery volcanic vents to lightless deep-sea caverns.

Your journey begins with a struggle for basic sustenance. Gradually, you'll learn to craft advanced gear, command submarines, and construct sprawling ocean-floor bases.

A helpful 3D fabricator and an AI companion provide guidance. Every expedition brings you nearer to uncovering the planet's secrets and finding a way home.

Along the way, you'll meet fascinating creatures like the Crabsquid, Warper, Mesmer, Boneshark, Ampeel, Stalker, and Crashfish. You may also encounter the colossal, awe-inspiring Leviathan-class organisms, including the Reaper, Sea Dragon, and Ghost Leviathan.

Take a look at the game's breathtaking visuals in the trailer below.

Subnautica on Android launches with a discount

The mobile version delivers the same immersive, first-person open-world experience. It features multiple gameplay modes tailored to your preferred style.

Survival Mode has you diligently monitoring hunger, thirst, and oxygen levels. Freedom Mode eases the survival demands by removing food and water needs. Creative Mode removes almost all constraints, focusing purely on exploration and building.

The planet also boasts two distinct islands, offering a change from the underwater vistas. A dynamic day-night cycle and occasional eclipses continuously alter the ambiance and your field of view.

This Android release sports a custom touch interface, full touch controls, Google Play Games achievements, cloud save support for switching devices, and full controller compatibility.

Subnautica is on the Google Play Store with a 10% launch discount, reducing the price to $8.99 from the standard $9.99. Also, check out our coverage of the new 'War for Humanity' DLC for Galaxy Frontier 2.
