Elden Ring Nightreign is Out Now!
Over 300,000 Players in 60 Minutes
Elden Ring Nightreign has drawn massive attention, with over 300,000 players jumping in within the first hour of launch. According to SteamDB, 297,313 players were active at launch, climbing to 313,593 just one hour later.
While these numbers are only about a third of Elden Ring’s all-time concurrent peak, they’re remarkable given the game’s Metacritic score of 77—making Nightreign the lowest-rated FromSoftware title in years, especially when compared to recent hits like Sekiro (2019, 90), Elden Ring (2022, 96), and Armored Core VI (2023, 86).
At Game8, we awarded Elden Ring Nightreign an 84 out of 100 for its bold twist: infusing FromSoftware’s brutal Soulsborne essence into a frenetic multiplayer chaos that keeps you coming back for more. Despite some rough edges in co-op and solo play—and occasional imbalances that leave you battered and bruised—it’s still an electrifying experience.
