Suicide Squad: Final Justice Update Unveiled

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Receives Final Major Update

Rocksteady Studios has released the final major content update for its live-service title, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 4 Episode 8, titled "Balance," is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This marks the end of new content development for the game, although servers will remain online.

The game, released in February 2024 to mixed reception, saw its support end less than a year later. The decision, announced December 9th, 2024, attributed the game's short lifespan to its unexpected live-service model. Despite the conclusion of content updates, Rocksteady assures players that all online features will remain accessible.

Episode 8 introduces significant additions:

  • Libra Infamy Set: A high-risk, high-reward set inspired by the DC villain Libra, manipulating enemy damage output.
  • Notorious Weapons: New weapons, including The Silencer's Complete Silence (with a powerful crowd control Alt-Fire), Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets (piercing and electrifying), and Chronos' Equilibrium (bonus damage based on missing shield).
  • Mayhem Mission: A final showdown against Brainiac.
  • Gameplay Improvements: Reduced XP requirements for Squad Levels (with retroactive rewards), and adjustments to Deathstroke's Suicide Strike.
  • Bug Fixes: Numerous fixes addressing various gameplay issues, UI elements, audio, and more. A full list is included below.

A December update (Season 4 Episode 7) introduced offline play, allowing players to experience the game's content without an internet connection, even if servers are eventually shut down.

For those who haven't experienced the game, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is currently available on PlayStation Plus until February 3rd.

Season 4 Episode 8 Patch Notes:

New Content:

  • Medieval Elseworld Expansion: Explore new areas and twists on familiar locations within the medieval Elseworld. Key locations include The Quarry and The Arena.
  • Libra Infamy Set: Applies stacks of Scales of Libra to enemies, increasing damage dealt and received by 50% per stack.
  • Notorious Weapons: The Silencer's Complete Silence, Doctor Sivana's Magic Bullets, and Chronos' Equilibrium. Details on each weapon's unique effects are provided above.

Gameplay Changes:

  • Reduced duration of Deathstroke's Suicide Strike against specific enemies.
  • Decreased XP requirements for Squad Levels (retroactive rewards applied).

Bug Fixes: (Extensive list of bug fixes omitted for brevity. Refer to the original input for the complete list.)

Known Issues:

  • Inconsistent Riddler challenge tracking when accessed from different Episodes. Workaround: Return to the main menu.

This final update ensures players can continue to enjoy Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, even without further content additions.
