These cuts weren't isolated to Rocksteady; Games Montreal, another Warner Bros. studio, also experienced layoffs, shedding 99 employees in December.
The game's early access launch exacerbated the situation. Players encountered numerous bugs, including server outages and a major story spoiler. Negative reviews from prominent gaming publications and widespread gameplay criticism led to a massive 791% surge in refund requests, according to McLuck analytics.
Rocksteady's future projects remain undisclosed.
