DC Studios has unveiled a thrilling new trailer for the upcoming Superman film, directed by James Gunn, set to premiere on July 11, 2025. This three-minute preview offers fans an exciting glimpse into the expansive world of superheroes and supervillains that will feature prominently in the movie.
In the trailer, we get our first real look at Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, also known as Green Lantern, effortlessly dispatching foes with a mere flick of his hand. Isabela Merced shines as Hawkgirl, and María Gabriela de Faría makes a striking impression as The Engineer. Notably, it's The Engineer who is revealed to be responsible for the destruction of the robots, including Kelex, within Superman's Fortress of Solitude—a scene that was hinted at in a previous trailer where a distraught Superman was seen cradling the damaged Kelex.
Adding to the excitement, the trailer showcases Krypto the Superdog in action, bravely taking on The Engineer with a flying punch, proving that this canine hero is not one to shy away from a fight.
The trailer also features more scenes of Lex Luthor, portrayed by Nicholas Hoult, and the villainous Ultraman. Fans are treated to extended looks at Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific and Anthony Carrigan as Rex Mason, aka Metamorpho. The newly introduced character, The Hammer of Boravia, initially teased in a previous trailer, makes a significant appearance, believed to be Ultraman in disguise, a creative twist by Gunn for this film.

The relationship between Clark Kent and Lois Lane is prominently featured, with a tense interview scene that turns into a heated argument over Superman's controversial decision to intervene in a foreign war. Superman defends his actions, stating, "I wasn’t representing anyone except for me... and doing good!" The repercussions of his choices are evident when The Hammer of Boravia retaliates by attacking Downtown Metropolis.
A heartwarming moment in the trailer shows a member of the public assisting Superman out of a hole, highlighting the duality of public sentiment towards him. This contrasts sharply with other scenes where the public expresses fear and hostility, throwing objects and screaming at the Man of Steel.
This new trailer for Superman not only deepens our understanding of the film's plot and character dynamics but also heightens anticipation for what promises to be an epic cinematic experience.
