"Switch 2 Zelda Ports: Repair Equipment Using Zelda Notes App, If Lucky"

The Nintendo Switch 2 versions of *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* are set to receive several enhancements, one of which may include a new feature for equipment repair. As observed by YouTuber Zeltik during a recent Nintendo Treehouse Live stream, the Zelda Notes app—a mobile companion app exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of these games—features a Daily Bonus section. This section allows players to roll for various in-game advantages, including meal effects, health and stamina recovery, and notably, Equipment Repairs.

Both *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* incorporate durability mechanics, where weapons, shields, and other items degrade over time and eventually break. This has been a contentious feature among fans, so the possibility of repairing equipment, such as a cherished Flameblade, could be a welcome addition for many players.

However, there's a catch: the repair feature isn't guaranteed. The Daily Bonus operates on a roulette-style system, randomly awarding different bonuses, so securing an Equipment Repair is not assured every day. Additionally, the feature is limited to once per day, requiring players to wait for the next opportunity to try their luck again. While this can be a lifesaver in critical moments, it's not likely to revolutionize the gameplay experience.

Beyond the potential for equipment repairs, the Zelda Notes app offers a range of other intriguing features. Both games will include a new achievements system through the mobile companion, as well as special audio memories that enrich the lore and background of Hyrule.

These enhancements are poised to elevate the open-world experience of *The Legend of Zelda* on the Nintendo Switch 2, particularly for those who were frustrated by the constant breaking of their favorite weapons. Alongside these upgrades, the Nintendo Switch 2 promises performance improvements that will further enhance the gameplay.

For more details, you can explore how the Nintendo Switch 2 is enhancing certain games from the original Switch.
