SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Pizza Tower’, ‘Castlevania Dominus Collection’, Plus Today’s Other Releases and Sales

Jan 12,2025 Author: Samuel

Hello fellow gamers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 28th, 2024! Yesterday's presentation was packed with exciting announcements, including several surprise game releases. This usually quiet Wednesday is anything but! We've got news, a rundown of today's eShop additions, and our regular sales lists. Let's dive in!

News

Partner/Indie World Showcase: A Bounty of Games

Nintendo's decision to combine two smaller showcases proved a smart move, resulting in a flurry of announcements. Highlights include surprise game launches (detailed below), Capcom Fighting Collection 2, the Suikoden I & II remakes, Yakuza Kiwami, Tetris Forever, MySims, Worms Armageddon: Anniversary Edition, new Atelier and Rune Factory titles, and much more. Watch the video for the full scoop – it's well worth your time!

Spotlight on New Releases

Castlevania Dominus Collection ($24.99)

A third Castlevania collection joins the fray, courtesy of a surprise release. This one features the three Nintendo DS titles: Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. It also includes the infamous arcade game, Haunted Castle, and a much-improved M2 remake. Exceptional emulation and features make this an incredible value.

Pizza Tower ($19.99)

This Wario Land-inspired platformer is another surprise release. Conquer five massive floors of the Pizza Tower to save your restaurant. Fans of Wario's handheld adventures will love this, but even those new to the series should give it a try if they enjoy platforming challenges. A review is planned.

Goat Simulator 3 ($29.99)

The surprise releases keep coming! Goat Simulator 3 brings its signature chaotic gameplay to the Switch. While performance on the Switch remains to be seen (more powerful systems have struggled), the game's inherent silliness might even enhance the experience. Expect the unexpected with this open-world goat simulator.

Peglin ($19.99)

It seems EA missed a significant opportunity by not bringing PopCap games to the Switch. For Peggle fans, Peglin is a must-have. This mobile hit now graces the Switch, blending Peggle mechanics with turn-based RPG roguelite elements. A review is forthcoming.

Doraemon Dorayaki Shop Story ($20.00)

Kairosoft adds a fresh twist to its simulation formula with this Doraemon-themed shop sim. Featuring characters from the popular manga and anime, it's a charming addition to the genre.

Pico Park 2 ($8.99)

More Pico Park for existing fans. Up to eight players can enjoy local or online multiplayer in this cooperative puzzle game.

Kamitsubaki City Ensemble ($3.99)

An affordable rhythm game featuring Kamitsubaki Studio music. Simple, fun, and budget-friendly.

SokoPenguin ($4.99)

A classic Sokoban-style puzzle game with a penguin twist. One hundred levels await.

Q2 Humanity ($6.80)

Over three hundred quirky physics-based puzzles. Utilize your character's abilities and drawing mechanics to solve problems. Supports up to four players locally or online.
