Exciting news for fans of Umamusume: Pretty Derby—the English version release date is now confirmed! Dive into the details to discover what this much-anticipated game has in store and how you can snag some incredible prizes, including round-trip tickets to Japan!
Umamusume: Pretty Derby is galloping towards its English release, set to launch globally on June 26, 2025. The announcement came via Cygames' official Twitter (X) account on April 27, with pre-registrations kicking off the very next day on April 28.
Originally launched in Japan on February 24, 2021, for iOS, Android, and PC, the game introduces a unique concept where legendary racehorses are reborn as "horse girls" or "Umamusume." These characters, who resemble high school girls but possess the ears, tails, and athletic prowess of horses, attend Tokyo's Tracen Academy. Here, they train to achieve their dreams of becoming top racers and idols.
The game's Steam page promises an immersive sports life simulation, featuring an in-depth training system and stunning 3D graphics. Players can scout and train over 20 different Uma Musumes, participate in races, and showcase their talents in performances, all facilitated by the game's gacha system.
PocketGamer.biz highlighted in March 2025 that the Japanese version of Umamusume: Pretty Derby amassed over $2.5 billion in mobile revenue within four years, nearly reaching $1 billion in its first year alone. With the English release, Cygames aims to replicate this phenomenal success worldwide.
Following the announcement, Cygames opened pre-registrations on April 28, offering players a range of rewards to start their racing journey on the right hoof. These rewards include:
Moreover, there's an exciting pre-registration event where participants have a chance to win round-trip plane tickets to Japan and other fantastic prizes. To enter, simply follow Umamusume: Pretty Derby's official English Twitter account and repost the event post during the specified period. The event runs until May 11 at 11:59 PM UTC. Prizes include:
Umamusume: Pretty Derby continues to expand its multimedia franchise, which now includes games, anime, and music. The English version is scheduled to launch on June 26, 2025, across iOS, Android, and PC platforms. Stay tuned for more updates and details on this exciting release!
