The voice actor behind Perfect Dark protagonist Joanna Dark is calling on fans to rally support for the game following its abrupt cancellation. Alix Wilton Regan's passionate plea comes amid widespread disappointment after Microsoft's studio closures claimed the anticipated reboot.
Following Perfect Dark's cancellation amid Microsoft's restructuring, lead voice actor Alix Wilton Regan encouraged fans to make their voices heard. In a July 4 social media post, Regan acknowledged numerous inquiries about potential studio rescues.
The acclaimed performer, known for roles in Dragon Age and Mass Effect, shared: "I HOPE WE LIVE IN A NICE WORLD." Regan previously expressed solidarity with affected developers on July 3, stating: "It's been an honor working with The Initiative's incredible team. Like Joanna, we'll rise again."
Co-star Elias Toufexis (Deus Ex, Starfield) voiced frustrations about the industry's volatility, revealing significant lost work on Perfect Dark: "Thousands in expected earnings disappeared instantly." The actor clarified payment protocols while lamenting wasted potential.
Toufexis explained the financial realities actors face: "While completed sessions get paid, scheduled future work disappears." He reflected on missed opportunities, noting the emotional and economic toll of cancellations.
Microsoft leadership maintains these decisions align with long-term strategy, describing them as necessary for focusing resources. Despite the setback, gaming communities continue speculating about possible Perfect Dark revivals under different publishers.
