Vay Relaunches on Android with Revamped 16-Bit JRPG Experience

SoMoGa Inc. has unleashed a revitalized version of Vay on Android, iOS, and Steam. Vay, a classic 16-bit RPG, returns with stunning updated visuals, a streamlined user interface, and controller support.

Originally released in Japan in 1993 for the Sega CD, and developed by Hertz, Vay's US localization was handled by Working Designs. SoMoGa previously kept the game's spirit alive with a 2008 iOS re-release.

What's New in this Vay Overhaul?

This revamped Vay boasts over 100 enemies and a dozen challenging bosses. Explore over 90 diverse areas, each brimming with adventure. A standout feature is the user-adjustable difficulty settings.

The updated Vay also includes an automatic save function for added convenience. Bluetooth controller support provides flexible gameplay options. Acquire new equipment and items, and watch your characters learn powerful new spells as they level up. An AI system even allows for autonomous character combat.

The Story Unveiled

Set in a distant galaxy scarred by a millennium-long interstellar war, the game's narrative unfolds. A colossal, malfunctioning machine crashed into the technologically underdeveloped planet Vay, unleashing destruction and chaos.

Embark on a quest to rescue your abducted wife and potentially save the world. Your wedding day is shattered by an attack on your peaceful kingdom, and your bride is taken. Thus begins your epic journey to thwart the destructive war machines.

Vay's captivating story blends nostalgia with fresh elements. Remaining true to its JRPG roots, characters gain experience and gold through random encounters. The game features almost ten minutes of animated cutscenes, available in both English and Japanese audio.

Download Vay's revamped edition from the Google Play Store today. This premium title is available for $5.99. Be sure to check out our other gaming news as well.
