Conquer the Lifer in Wuthering Waves: A Comprehensive Guide

Wuthering Waves' 2.0 update introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord residing in Rinascita's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to overcome this formidable foe.

Locating the Lifer

The Lifer awaits at Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a massive tree. An accessible entrance lies southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or utilize the Flight function to reach it.

Mastering the Lifer's Board Game

Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a six-piece board game. Control the black pieces to connect three in a row before the Lifer (white pieces) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls and gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any point. While not mandatory for the fight, the board game is crucial for debuffing the Lifer. Avoid winning before removing buffs; otherwise, combat begins immediately.

Neutralizing the Lifer's Buffs

The Lifer boasts seven buffs, four removable using Stakes of Imbalance. A yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.

Removable Buffs (Fragility):

  • Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of inactivity.
  • Desire for Escape: ATK increase, further boosted every 20 seconds.
  • Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking with each hit (clears after 6 seconds without dealing damage).
  • Decay of Time: Massive resistance boost and HP increase.

Permanent Buffs (Stability):

  • Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
  • Endless Game: Reduced immobilization duration.
  • Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant damage.

Use the Sensor near the Lifer to reveal four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room holds a glowing white Stake; place it in the module near the winged statue to remove a corresponding buff. The purple line turns yellow once a buff is removed.

The Final Showdown

With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Engage in combat via the "Fight it out!" option or by winning the board game. Its attacks are now less threatening.

Victories reward Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests. You can re-enable buffs for a greater challenge, though no achievements are tied to this.

Achievements

  • The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
  • The Ring of The Lifer: Obtain all nine chests (three victories).
  • Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game.
  • Alpha Go: Lose the board game 10 times.

For the board game, focus on preventing the Lifer from creating lines. Its mistakes will provide opportunities for victory.
